hi everyone welcome to cook Stacy cook today we are making teriyaki chicken udong stir fry I Tred a similar dish at a Japanese restaurant last week and I really like it so I try to replicate it with what I have at home and came up with this recipe this is a dish everyone can make at home and it is very tasty and fulfilling let me show you how I make it we will start by preparing the teriyaki sauce mix s mirin and soy sauce together we will use some of this sauce to marinate the chicken and the rest for stir fry next finally means two cloves of garlic and cut half of fan onion into fin strips we will also need one green onion sprit the stem part in half lengthwise and then cut everything into 2 in sections next we will cut some cabbage into large strips roughly slice the Cabbage like this then break the Cabbage up by hand to make the large strips I also cutting some carrot strips to use as decoration in the dish so it is an optional ingredient now the chicken you can use chicken breast or chicken thigh cut them into bsize pieces and marinate them with some of the teriyaki sauce we prepar earlier for 15 to 30 minutes for the udon I am using Frozen udon today Frozen udon is precooked so all I have to do is heat them up in hot water for 1 to 2 minutes minutes if you are using other kinds of UD just follow the instruction on the package I am cooking the ud until it is warm in the center then remove them from the water now heat out the pan over medium high heat and add some oil to it when the oil is hot we will stir fry the cabbage in the carrot stir fry them in the pan for about 30 seconds to coat them with oil then add some Teryaki sauce and continue to stir fry until they are evenly coated with the sauce and the color looks even this will take another 30 seconds to 1 minute then remove the Cabbage from the pan next we will pan fry the chicken turn the heat to medium and make sure the the pan is hot and add some oil to the pan if needed then add the chicken to the pan and let them pan fry until the bottom is golden brown now FP them over and pany the other side when both sides are golden brown turn the heat to medium low and add the garlic to the chicken briefly stir frry the chicken with the garlic then add the remaining chicken marinade liquid to the pan continue to stir fry the chicken over medium low heat until the liquid in the pan is substantially reduced then we can remove the chicken from the pan now turn the heat back up to medium high and we will stir fry the ud add a little more oil to the pan and stirfry the onion first we want to stir fry the onion until they are a little soft it starts to get translucent then add the udon to the pan we will pan fry the Udo for 1 to 1 and A2 minutes stir the oodle occasionally while we pin fry it this process heats up the Udo and allows it to pick up some flavor from the onion after pan frying the ud add the remaining teriyaki sauce to the pan stir fry the udong until they are all coated with teriyaki sauce and the color looks even then add about half a cup of water stir the ud a little bit so the water is evenly mix it then cover the pan and let the udon brace in the liquid until the liquid starts to thicken up bracing the udon a little bit is important because udon doesn’t absorb flavor easily so bracing a little bit will get the flavor into the Ood but make sure you don’t brace it for too long or the wood will get too soft when the liquid thickens up to about this consistency we can add a cabbage and carrot back to the pan give everything a few quick toss to mix them together then we can add the chicken back to the pan also add the green onion and some crushed black pepper at this time now all it takes is a few more TOs and we are done look at this delicious udong stir fry the udong is full of Teriyaki flavor the chicken is tender and flavorful and this dish is simply mouthwatering I really recommend you give this dish a try let me know what you think about this recipe in the comments if you find today’s video useful please sh share with your friends and family thank you for watching and see you next time
