so let’s see what this buttered popcorn does to my blood sugar this is homemade buttered popcorn I started out with 2 tablespoons of avocado oil and 1/3 of a cup of popcorn kernels and of course after it’s popped I’ve added 1/4 cup of melted butter alog together this serving has 920 calories 75 G of fat 6 g of protein 45 G of carbs and 7 G of fiber this is a pretty big carbohydrate load I’m wondering if the fiber in the popcorn and the added fat from the butter will help to slow this down a little bit let’s see what it does to my blood sugar all right it’s been a couple of hours since I’ve had the popcorn let’s have a look at the glucose monitor to see what actually happened here yeah there’s quite a spike here this went up by 39 milligram which is a little higher than I expected especially with all the fat that I put on there with that butter so in the future I may want to reduce the portion size here to help keep those blood sugar levels down I also think there was a little too much fat in there I didn’t

  1. I am ketovore, for my health. I MISS popcorn so much! But I do not let myself eat it. It's about the most missed food.

  2. I love your videos because it gives you visual and this is what it means take control of your health. Thanks for all you’re doing!

  3. How do you read the spike? Bc it’s all up and down… where do you start and stop the spike to get 39 mg/dL spike? Thanks

  4. This guy is the best, since he actually does it and showes you what happend to his body

  5. Those seed oils still mess with the glucose i'm guessing. I'd love to see a re-do with ghee to cook it and melted butter on top.

  6. Just air popped raises my blood sugar, and when I add butter, it still raises it. Portion is the key to this. But, it's hard for me just to eat a serving size. Lol
