Or as close as you’ll get at home sticking to 1500. Start with a Healthy Choice Simply Steamers Chicken Fried Rice. One bowl has 300 calories and 6g of fat. Toss away the sauce that comes with it. It’s gross.
Next, spray oil in a pan over medium high heat. Toss in frozen rice, chicken, and veggies. Add a little garlic powder or fresh garlic and black pepper. Add a tablespoon or two of water. Cover. Once water starts to evaporate, uncover and stir. Let the rice, chicken, and veggies cook. Also add about a tablespoon of soy sauce now.
At this point I added an additional egg. Just move the food to one side and crack the egg in the pan. Then scramble. Let everything cook til things start browning just a tad. Turn off the heat and move to a bowl. Top with the sesame seeds and green onions (not pictured).
Since we’re tossing away the sauce, I’m guessing this has significantly less calories and fat. We did an egg though but at least we gained some protein.
Also while the portion isn’t huge, adding the egg helps. And eating with chopsticks forces you to eat slower. I feel pretty full.
