This was my first ever salsa, this was close to zero effort, super lazy, just through everything into a processor.
Canned diced tomatoes (with garlic and onion)
Fire roasted diced green chiles
Canned chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
MSG
Jarred pickled jalapeño slices (not pictured)
RealLime “lime juice” (not pictured)
I wasn’t expecting much but the result tasted about as bland as a regular Tostitos jar.
I tried adding more jalapeño slices, added salt. Still not great. Probably should have drained the diced tomatoes before adding.
Eventually I will do it properly, I’ve got bags of dried chiles on the way. But I wanted to get my feet wet.
Can’t wait for the roasting I will receive in the comments!

Try using real ingredients lolz. Literally everything coming out of a can is obviously not gonna taste great. And make sure you really have enough salt. It may taste salty enough when you eat it alone, but it will often get diluted when you eat it with other stuff.
Skip the MSG. Don’t get me wrong, I love the stuff but in my experience it doesn’t work well with salsa. I think it has to do with the fact that tomato already has MSG in it.
Also, some onion would probably help. Though I’m a diehard /r/onionlovers
It will only get better.
I bet the sodium content was through the roof!
Add fresh cilantro, jalapeño or habanero (roasted to bring out the flavor, or not to save time), fresh lime juice, salt, and maybe some onion.
