[Music] making a hearty breakfast or brunch for a big group of people during the holidays can get a little tricky because by the time that you prep everything and cook everything it’s practically lunchtime already anyways but this casserole makes it easy because you prep everything the night before and then the next morning you just throw in the oven and it’s ready in less than an hour to get started Brown the sausage get out a large frying pan and heat 1 tbspoon of vegetable oil over medium heat add one pound of uncooked pork breakfast sausage and cook it about 10 minutes using a wooden spoon to break it into little pieces you want it to be browned and cooked through set the pan aside so the sausage can cool for about 10 minutes now grab a large bowl crack a dozen eggs into it and whisk until they’re broken up then whisk in 2 and 1/2 cups of milk 2 teaspoons of ground mustard 1 teaspoon kosher salt and half a teaspoon of pepper then you’re going to stir in the rest of the ingredients add the brown sausage 6 oz of cubed French bread that’s about half of a baguette 3/4 cup cheddar cheese and 3/4 cup Montery jack cheese you want to be sure that you’ve cut your bread cubes kind of small here because they’re going to sit in the egg mixture and they’re going to swell up a little bit so if you’ve cut them too gigantic to begin with they’re just going to be harder to eat now all you need to do is dump everything in a 13 by9 in baking dish cover it with foil or plastic wrap and put it in the fridge overnight letting it sit overnight in the fridge gives the bread a chance to soak up all the eggy custard and it lets the sausage flavor that whole casserole the next morning take the casserole out of the fridge and let it sit at room temperature to take the chill off while you heat the oven to 350 then take off the foil or plastic wrap and bake for about 45 minutes you’ll know when it’s done because a toothpick stuck in the center will come out clean then let it cool about 10 minutes before you serve it now you have an easy casserole that you can prepare the night before and just shove in the oven the next day when you’re ready to eat it’s filling from the bread it’s got Savory sausage and a Cheesy eggy custard and that’s it the easiest way to make a Cheesy sausage breakfast casserole [Music] n

Idiots! This is a for just one person to eat. Jebus Christ SuperStar she says "large crowd" in the video.
Bread? That's Lazy!!!! Use Potatoes!!!!!!
I'm from Alaska… Burning warmth calories and sitting around all day inside have nothing to do with one another. Especially clad in ugly sweaters for the season. The one who can sit with this in them in any amount for hours is the one that physically can. Which isn't good culture. But normal.
Were just going to have to agree to disagree 😉
Holy crap that looks delicious. D:
holy shit thats alot of eggs
Agree to disagree? I said that eating a single serving of this one (1) time and then sitting around would not make you fat. How could you possibly disagree with that statement? One meal of eggs, meat, bread and dairy would just deteriorate your health and you'll instantly gain weight if you don't work it off immediately? Just one meal? That's just asinine.
This is just about the only casserole that I've ever thought looked appetizing.
Great recipe. I'll try it. A variation on the Christmas Morning "Wife Saver" (politically incorrect name). Lay bread in a casserole dish, then pemeal bacon and grated cheese on top, more bread. Pour a mixture of eggs, mustard, finely chopped bell peppers and a bit of milk over the top. The next morning put crushed cornflakes on top and drizzle with melted butter. Cook at 350 for an hour.
I make something similar but I use hash browns instead of bread.
I like to have a healthy breakfast.
i make a leftover pizza omelette. it's perfect for a group hangover breakfast.
Sitting on your ass all day is also asinine…. The ability to do so after eating such things in the morning is quite asinine too. It speaks of a lifestyle choice indicative of thinking this is generally fine…not just exceptionally. One heavy meal starting a nothing day… Ive been fat and capable of such behavior. Now I'm mentally and physically incapable of eating that many calories unburnt….all day. It would be like drinking a pot of coffee and laying down for a nap.
You still don't get it, do you? You're still telling me that sitting around after eating this once will deteriorate one's health? It's ONE time, man. So I can't splurge and pig out during the holidays without being sucked into turning fat? I have to plan out my caloric intake and work out every single day, without ever stopping if I want to have "any sense of health"? You're incredibly condescending. Just because you're not into it doesn't mean everyone who partakes in it is a slob.
You don't like what you see? Instead of condemning everyone who watches this video who isn't fed up with how unhealthy it is as fat slobs from your high horse just because you're healthy, you could just not make it.
Stop calling it sausage you ditz. It's called mince.
You're all fat have ugly sweaters on caked with eggnog, lard casserole and sensitivity.
Happy holidays.
Man you're lame…
No man…actually I'm quite an able bodied….man…man.
Care to know why. No 'hearty breakfasts" and the day on my ass drooling. Woo Hoo. Not saying it wrong just that its not sane.
Great recipe! Thinking of wubbing chorizo for the breakfast sausage. Thanx!
what the fuck are you saying? get some education before posting please

Wow Im gonna try this
Dank af. Thanks
I am wondering if I can substitute cubed potatoes instead of bread cubes.
Looks good. But breakfast has to be the easiest meal to make it bulk the day of, no?
How do you make a half batch?
Can this be turned into a freezer meal?
Needs color
I'm guessing Hawaiian sweet rolls would be too soggy?
I've been making this on special occasions I was 9
This looks delicious! I’m going to make it tomorrow. Thanks!!
I've been doing this with pancake mix for a while and could not for the life of me figure out how to make it less soggy. Don't know why I didn't think of cornbread!
