Supposedly these were supposed to be poblanos, but they are so much smaller than the ones I see at the store.
Are these actually poblanos, and eventually they'll get bigger, or is this a seed mix-up?
Pictured is one strange fruit that ripened way before the others, starting with this weird pepper-like growth underneath the calyx in addition to the main fruit. I guess maybe the flower got pollinated twice and that somehow caused it to ripen more quickly?
However now I have several other peppers on the plant ripening to red before they get to the size of poblanos I've seen.
