How are you gonna post this as a comparison and then not give any details in any way, shape or form of said comparison? Lol wtf

The first two pics were last week when I cooked burgers over my usual brown bag B&B lump, last two pictures were from today over Jealous Devil Chunx XL
FIRST I’ll cut right to the chase…
Taste; both charcoals performed exceptionally well, nice smoke ring, perfect done-ness (medium, I prefer rare for steaks/tuna steaks) the B&B had a slightly redder hue, as far as the taste, both were great, but I’d give a slight edge to B&B, it had a slightly more savory, smoky taste, closer to what you’d get off a campfire, the JD had a more …neutral… flavor, it imparted less noticeable smokiness and savory tones than the B&B, still more than propane though… (Sorry, Hank 😉 )
Now, the other factors;
Ease of lighting; JD caught quicker and started to ash over sooner, B&B typically took a second bunch of bunched up newspaper in the chimney starter to get a solid burn going
Temperature; JD pegged the thermometer on my Weber Deluxe kettle, pushing it well past 700F, B&B maintained a good solid 700 in setup
Burn time; inconclusive, I only cooked the two burgers and toasted their buns, it generally takes the B&B a couple hours to completely extinguish to the point where I can recover and reuse the coals, I’ll see how long it’ll take JD to do the same, I’m expecting to have the same amount of reusable coals left over once the kettle has cooled off
Ash residue; so far, the JD seems to be on par with B&B, maybe a touch less
Final verdict; I’m pleased with both, both are exceptional lump charcoals, and are basically interchangeable for my purposes, I will give B&B a slight edge on flavor, and JD a slight edge on ease of lighting and maximum temperature.
As B&B is around $24 in my area, and JD is $14-18 at the mart of walls, JD has a slight financial advantage, but I find the flavor difference significant enough to spend the extra money, I’m going to keep both on hand, once I use up this bag of JD, it’ll be a hard decision which way to go next…
Oh, and those that say JD doesn’t pop and spark while lighting?
LIARS!! 😉 it popped and sparked just the same as B&B (which was not much, but it did spark and pop.

Assuming the first is JDCXLL. It’s a pretty good lump coal.

The actual review should be posted now, additional data;
Ash residue; SIGNIFICANTLY lower than B&B, almost no ash to speak of
Cooldown time ; FAR quicker than B&B, just as I’m posting this now the grill is down around 160 F

Both are awesome looking burgers.
