I just received my BJ3 and noticed that the slo-roller top plate says not to exceed 500F. I thought the newer grills had a slo-roller plate that said not to exceed 350F? Did I get an old grill, or has KJ changed their recommendation again? FWIW, it doesn’t seem to be Teflon coated either, has more of a rough finish to it.

Teflon or not, it’ll start to flake off at higher temps. Use it only for smoking and you should be fine. Others here have sanded off the coating.
