My kids cant get enough of these prime rib sliders I been makin on the griddle, invited my parents and rest of siblings over. Made some Oklahoma style sliders as well (not pictured). Salt/pep/onion powder.

Chicken is parboiled for bout 15 minutes low simmer with traditional Polish veggies/spices/herbs (stock is then used for whatever), then grilled with a dab of bbq sauce til cooked through and sticky.

I’d rather cook it for longer and lower than boil it first

boiled meat is an abomination. passing it off as ‘grilled’ is pitifully lame.

I’ll do this when grilling chicken for a crowd. Not traditional but they don’t know it and nobody gets food poisoning!

Parboling is a legitimate cooking technique. If it serves your recipes then do it!

Only think I’ll parboil is brats in beer and onions.

I don’t find it particularly necessary. The beauty of dark meat is that it can be cooked way past well done and still be great.

I don’t want to boil out all of the good flavor and fat that keeps the chicken moist.

What’s the benefit of parboiling them? More dishes?

Is is easier and better than just a basic brine?

i have caribbean family members who insist on doing this, because they’re afraid of undercooked chicken, and don’t trust temperature probes. I also know a few south asians who won’t eat bbq chicken unless its super dry on the inside and burnt on the outside

I’d rather have steamed hams personally.

Kinda doesn’t make sense to me. I grilled thighs yesterday can’t imagine boiling them first

i would park my ass by those burgers with a beer and go to town…

I mean, just wet brine it and grill it, if you want juicy and full of flavor that’s all you need. Juicier than simmering that’s for sure, osmotic pressure ftw.

Hell, dry brining it will also keep it incredibly juicy and flavorful.

Not grilling, but I love to boil a whole chicken. Strip the meat and drop the carcass back in for a nice bone broth. I end up using the chicken (which is delicious when boiled right) and stock all week.

my dad boils his brats before throwing them on the grill…. i gave my brother one of MY brats the other day (cooked in beer and onions) and he swears it’s the best brat he had.

When I was growing up, my mom and dad a
ALWAYS parboiled chicken and ribs before tossing them on the grill. Didn’t hate it then and I don’t hate it now.

Totally unrelated but how do you like griddle on top of the grill grate approach? I was honestly about to go buy one to use this weekend and saw your post.

I parboil chicken before I grill it.

Was about to get my sword out for some head chopping thinking you parboiled those patties before grilling. hehehe

  19. I don’t get it. Are they already boiled in pics 1 & 2?

Is there really a benefit to cooking the burgers on the grill this way?
Like over just cooking them inside in a skillet?
Does the grill really add anything here?

Not trolling genuinely curious it just looks weird to me.
