What is going on with my tomato? It’s my first time growing them and I’m trying to figure out if it’s blossom end rot or something else!
Thank you!!

Probably a big beefsteak type often the first tomato’s do this splitting and gross looking disfigurement that worsens and it’s called cat face by some gardeners. Google it

That’s not BER. When that tomato ripens, you’ll have to cut away a bit around the damaged areas, but otherwise you’ll have a normal tomato.
As soon as I see BER on a tomato, I pick it and toss it.
It’s just catfacing. Sometimes this happens on larger varieties especially the first fruits.
It’s usually just abnormal blossoms and nothing serious.
Home-grown tomatoes are ugly sometimes, especially the big ones. The fruit will be fine, just cut away the gnarly bits.
