I’m u/hey_grill, not hey_griddle, so what do you expect?
Put a fire under some grates and then we’re cookin!

I couldn’t care less what other people cook on.

I honestly don’t understand how anyone could possibly disagree with this. It’s true! A griddle is for frying, not grilling. I love my griddle!

I asked this question on the smoking sub. A guy with a bunch of outdoor grills, including a Blackstone, said he just likes to cook outside.

What if I put my castiron pan ON the grill?

TL;DR you think griddle is bad in some countries people call **broilers** grills!
I was having this conversation on another subreddit about cooking and the commenter kept telling me how they will just use **their grill in their kitchen**. Anyway I start telling them they will need to adjust the recipe etc and how “kitchen grills” (which some high end stove tops have) do not have tops so they are basically direct only and that a broiler might be best.
Turns out after several very confused of back and forths they meant broiler and that in their country they call broilers grills.

This is exactly why I got rid of my Blackstone.. it’s a giant frying pan and I was doing frying pan things outside..
Not a grill, not a smoker.. not for me.. may be unpopular but I’m not here for popularity..
I couldn’t get into it, the smash burgers were king, but keeping an entire separate thing just for one meal wasn’t worth it for me, especially when I have a griddle top for my gas range and cast iron pans..

Yes there’s a Blackstone Reddit. The griddle cult members reading off their propaganda sheet gets goofy. “It’s great when you have to make smashburgers for 40 people” “I’m going to do rotisserie chicken this weekend on my flat top!”

I use my griddles and frying pans inside my grill all the time.
