Ingredients:
a. 2 cups of green or brown lentils
b. 7&1/2 cups of water
c. 1 cup of bulgur no 3
d. 3 big purple onions or 4 smaller ones
e. 1 cup of extra virgin olive oil
f. Salt to taste

Recipe:
a. Wash lentils and put in a pot with 5 cups of water
b. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes or until halfway cooked.
c. While that is cooking, slice the red onions and in a skillet, add 4-5 tablespoons of oil and start sauteeing the onions on high heat (constantly stir onions).
d. After 5 minutes, lower the heat to medium-high and keep stirring for another 7 minutes.
e. If need be, add a little bit more oil.
f. The lentils should be about 85% caramelized.
g. Add 1/2 cup of water, salt to taste, and mush with the back of the wooden spoon for 2 minutes.
h. Now, to the lentils, add the bulgur, 2 cups of water, caramelized onions, and 4-5 tablespoons of olive oil, mix well, cover, and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
i. After 20 minutes, taste for doneness and salt.
j. Turn off heat and cover with a tea towel for 10 minutes to remove excess moisture.

Salad:
a. 5 radishes chopped into small pieces
b. 1 cup baby tomatoes chopped in half
c. 3 Lebanese cucumbers chopped into tiny pieces.
d. 10 mint leaves
e. Hanful of chopped chives

Sauce:
a. 4 Tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
b. 1 Tablespoon of pomegranate molasses
c. 1 Lemon
d. Salt to Taste

hello everyone welcome back to F’s kitchen today we’ll be making a Lebanese lentil dish called mamra literally meaning red lentils it’s vegan vegetarian made with lentils bulgar and caramelized onions I like to pair it also with a nice refreshing salad but before we begin don’t forget to turn on your notification Bell now let’s dig over here I have two cups of green lentils I have washed well you can also use the brown lentils I’ve added 5 cups of water and cover and let cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes minutes or until halfway cooked now we chopping three to four purple onions depending on the size this this onions is what makes this smal guys so make sure you have enough onions so three big ones or four smaller ones now add 45 tbsp of olive oil on high heat and start sautéing you will constantly need to be stirring the onions this is what they look like after 5 minutes do not leave them guys because they will burn so keep stirring if you need add more oil then go ahead this is what our onions look like after about 12 minutes of total cooking time now I will be adding half a cup of water and mushing with the back of my spoon we want the onions to melt in with the lentil on the Bulger salt to taste and MH for about 2 minutes with the back of your wooden spoon now we will be adding one cup of number three bugar 2 cups of water the caramelized onions and mix well now add 3 to 4 tbsp extra version olive oil cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes after 20 minutes check for dness and salt to taste Now cover with the tea towel and let sit for 10 minutes remove any excess moisture now making a simple salad have ch UPS some radishes tomatoes cucumbers be adding some fresh mint and some fresh chives I’ll be adding half a lemon 3 to 4 tbsp of olive oil 1 tbsp of pomeg masses and Sal Sal to taste isn’t this a beauty guys I love to top MRA with some fresh mint it really pairs well with caramelized onions this is such a refreshing light dinner to make the salad and olives really pair well with this dish also such a satisfying vegetarian and vegan meal I always love to take this to picnics remember guys you are what you eat to feed your body well and it will take care of you but before you leave don’t forget to like subscribe and share thank you so much for watching see you next time
