Hello! These are my first ever cherry tomatoes that i grew (or trying). I know i planted them too late (at the end of april), and they need bigger pots. But unfortunately i live in an apartment and this window is the only one that gets a decent amount of sun in my place. And bigger pots wouldnt fit on the windowsill. We absolutely love c. tomatoes i really want to see them yield fruit, but my mother’s husband is constantly telling me to dont waste energy on them and to throw them away because they will never grow fruit because of the lack of space. Is it true? I dont want to give up on them because i spent so much time and theyre like my babies but this is all the space i can give them🥺

If these are regular indeterminate cherries, you are indeed unlikely to get good produce out of them for two reasons: One, as you’ve already pointed out, the pots are far too small and the plants too densely planted for good production. Tomato plants put into the ground in late April should now be around 4-6′ in height. Two, tomatoes require 6-8 hours of full, direct sunlight, and it is unlikely they will receive that through the window. If they do produce, the lack of sun and soil nutrients may negatively impact the flavor.

However, your desire to grow tomatoes in the face of adversity and poor conditions is admirable, and a quality many of us share here in r/tomatoes. So I will suggest you look into growing [dwarf](https://victoryseeds.com/collections/dwarf-tomato-project) or [microdwarf](https://heritageseedmarket.com/index.php/product-category/dwarf-tomatoes/micro-dwarf-tomatoes/) tomatoes, which are intended for cultivation in small spaces. I’m sure others on this sub can let you know which cherry microdwarfs would be best for your windowsill. You may still have to support them with a dedicated grow light depending on the amount of light that enters through the window. Good luck!

Agree with above. You may rather have one plant in a larger round pot then several plants in this rectangle pot.
