Can anyone tell me what’s happening here? For more info, I have two tomato beds made the same way. Same soil. Same compost / fertilizer. This Cherokee purple (which has two tomatoes currently on it) is my only plant that looks like this even in this bed. It’s been a few days of just sad droopyness. I guess I just want to know if I should compost it or let it keep growing the tomatoes? Anything I can do to help? Are the tomatoes safe if it’s sick? Thank you!

Cherokee purple has always been difficult to get to harvest for me, NE Texas, 8a. Despite a strong start, it gets droopy and wilted like this, even when the other tomatoes around it look great. I’ve stopped growing them, even though the tomatoes are delicious. This year, I grew Cherokee-Carbon, a hybrid, which did a lot better. It’s a hybrid, not an heirloom.
I don’t see any signs of contagious disease in this photo. If you don’t see any either, on closer inspection, I would leave it another week or so. By then it will be clear whether or not the plant is viable. I’m not sure what to suggest you do different.
Is there a chance something damaged the roots?
