Hello everyone, I wanted to share pictures of my harvest. The "Georgia Flame Pepper" variety. It took me a while to realize that that meant the Republic of Georgia and not the state in the USA. I used the green ones in salsa and it came out delicious. Scoville level is supposed to be around 1000-1500 SHU. "Supposed to" being the key words. Haha, I ate the red one on its own immediately after harvesting it. It tasted much hotter than that. Thin fleshed but they have a strong impact in dishes. I felt that one red pepper was as hot as 2 green peppers. Seeds bought from Seed Savers Exchange.
Now to the "Early Long Orange Bell" Sweet Pepper. The peppers have reached around 3-4 inches long. They taste like a typical Bell pepper. A bit thinner fleshed of course but I'm happy with them. Vibrant! They started producing much more fruits late into the season. Meaning, at first only a couple successful pollinations, then no more fruits for a long while and finally a lot more fruits popped up. Seeds bought from the Experimental Farm Network Seed Store.
This is the first time growing peppers. All of them were started early inside with a grow light. My intention is to hybridize these :). Happy growing folks!
