Ovaries growing on the outside of the pod is a Boron deficiency.

Had that happen on one of my Purple Gator Jigsaw plants. It’s called internal proliferation (where pods form inside the pepper without fertilization). Can’t remember if it’s genetics related, caused by stress, or both.
