After getting some advice from the community and a strong push from my wife, I picked up this bad boy yesterday.
18 great years with my Traeger, but it’s time for a new adventure.

We Need Your Help!
We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.
By voting on and commenting on posts, you’re not only helping others but also boosting the visibility of your own posts. Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.
Together, we can support and uplift our entire community. Let’s keep the positive vibes and delicious smoked meat content flowing!

Congrats, the grease shield, Half shelve, & Grillgrates are a “must”. After that it’ll be the stainless steel shelves sleeves.

Congrats on the upgrade!
What have you noticed in terms of the results that you’re getting compared to the Traeger?

Welcome to the fam!
May the thin blue smoke be yours.
Unsolicited $0.02:
[Cookin’ Pellets](https://cookinpellets.com) (100% of what the bag says) are available by the mixed pallet and their customer service is great.
Grill grates are helpful if you grill a lot. And since those are quicker sessions, I’ve used Costco’s Kirkland (Pit Boss) pellets for those.
I haven’t found the front grease shield panel to be necessary.
If you plan to smoke a lot of flat stuff, do consider the 3-tier rack. There’s a 4th surface underneath the bottom tier that I use as well. Would work for brisket but it would for jerky and salmon filets and possibly chicken.
For extra probes, I got a Thermoworks Signals and… eh. Expected more since their Thermopen One is best in class. Will likely replace the Signals with a Fireboard 2 (6 probes iirc) or a Fireboard 2 Pro (3 probes).
