Hi friends, let’s whip together an easy, tasty treat with only TWO ingredients! Applesauce and oatmeal! Super-duper easy go-to for a healthy snack or dessert. You can always add a few more ingredients to make it a bit sweeter or healthier. I made two batches and did just the two ingredients and also made one with dried cranberries and chia seeds. Both are great tasting! Let me know in the comments what you add to yours! Thanks for watching and God Bless!

Hey friends welcome back to my kitchen my name is Christine and I am going to be whipping together a two ingredient cookie! You can use it for breakfast for dessert what have you. But is there such a thing? Yes there is! It is oats, that’s one thing and applesauce is the other. So I’m gonna whip it together and I thought I’d bring you with so come on with. Okay friends this is literally it! It’s looking pretty lonely over here isn’t it. So we start out with the oats and it literally is going to be one cup of oats put in my bowl. Okay that’s it on that. Then it just depends on the apple sauce you have too so I have applesauce that I made up and it’s actually pretty chunky so you can kind of see the different chunks in here. But so the chunkier you want to add a little bit more because it doesn’t have the liquid. So I’m going to add a three-quarters cup of apple sauce and that literally is it! Otherwise it’s a half a cup and mush it down. Should have enough here. I’ve got my toaster oven going at 350 to warm up. All right so that’s three quarters of a cup and I’m going to put that out. Mix it together good. Then we do let this sit for a little bit but let’s get that mixed up. If you feel like you need more liquid because like I said my applesauce is pretty chunky, you can always do that too. So the original recipe was a half a cup of applesauce but like I said, I think is good and then this is your opportunity, I’m just going to leave these just how they are I do like them for breakfast and such so I like them with my coffee kind of plain, but then I did whip up another batch using some chia seeds and some cranberries dried cranberries that I’m trying to use up whoops so oh that really went flying. You can kind of see the consistency of it is a little bit drier but that’s what makes a good cookie and easy. So there’s literally there’s no egg, no butter, no nothing in this it’s two ingredients which I think is fantastic because then you literally know like those were organic apples I made the applesauce myself these are organic oats. And again oats are one of the top dirty dozen for dry goods! So if you can get organic it goes through such a process. All right so it takes a little bit to get everything mushed together and then you’re going to take your dough here I guess your batter whatever you want to call it and you’re going to squish it into like two inch balls so I’m going to do this I tried to do it with one of my cookie my cookie scoop and it did not work so I’m really gonna get in there and I’m gonna really squish it. So I have a pan that is greased and you want to make like I said about a two inch ball and then we flatten it out. We let it chill for about 20 minutes in the fridge. I could do a little bit more. But you’ll see kind of how it does you know go together you know it does make a little ball. Okay squish it squish it and I’ll speed this up for you. Okay. So next you want to squish them down flat with a spatula. You know they’re not going to spread because there’s no baking soda baking powder anything in it so flatten them out the best you can. As thin as you can and then, they cook a little bit faster and you know oats are so good in fiber and protein that these make such a great treat. And you can keep these in your fridge up to two weeks. Mine never really lasts that long because I do tend to eat them for breakfast. But then if you want that little sweet thing in the afternoon then you can have a little sweet treat that’s not so bad for you. So they just flattened down really nice and I’m just kind of shaping them a little bit. I’m hoping I got enough room on here. That one’s falling apart a little bit but that’s why you want to chill them too. We’re going to chill these for like I said about 20 minutes or so and then they’ll be really nice and firm to cook. Slide that one up and like I said they’re not going to spread. All right these are going to go in the fridge. Okay friends the timer went off so we’re going to get these in the toaster oven and I’ve got it set for just about 20 minutes and then I’ll give them a check. Okay friends the timer just went off and we’re gonna get these out of here. So it did take a little bit longer. I did like 30 minutes or so but they look great so we’ll close out the video. Hey friends so how simple was that? Two ingredients, oats and applesauce. I’ll leave the list down below, which isn’t very long but then you will see at the end I did add some cranberries and some chia seeds that I needed to use up to another batch. And these freeze so well! You can utilize them for breakfast, a lunch treat and a dinner dessert. So if you like videos like this, hit that like and subscribe and I’ll see you next time on Christine’s routines. Take care and God bless! There if you’d like but I’m going to be put putting pudding to pudding…. is there such a thing yes there is it is a combination combination (sigh)….some chia seeds that I need to use up so you chill it…gosh I gotta get this togetha… so I just thought I’d bring you with and if you like videos like this….uh what are you gonna do… maybe something and my cat’s meowing….Kibble you

  2. I've never seen applesauce like that unless it's home made, also would putting an egg in it make it stick together? They do look good, and I would throw in some pecans, cause I'm a 60 year Southern cook, haha

  8. ive been doing the oatmeal cookie recipe with banana, but now it will be:

applesauce; oatmeal; soaked/pat dry raisins/cranberries; allspice; stevia. i cover the bowl and leave it to let the ingredients dampen the oatmeal thoroughly; bake 20 minutes at 400F in my cuisinart steam convection oven; same size as microwave but WAYYY better! tastes pretty good!!
