Ingredients:
1/2 cup or 1 stick butter, room temperature
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 white sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp vanilla
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup raisins
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl cream together the butter, white, and brown sugars until well blended. Add in the egg and vanilla then continue mixing. Set aside.
In another bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Add this dry mixture into the sugar/butter mixture and mix. Then combine the oats and raisins and mix to form the cookie dough. Scoop out into round shapes and place on cookie sheet (1 dozen per). Bake 10-12 minutes and once it’s done, let it cool 10 minutes before serving. The cookies should be crisp on the outside and chewy inside. You know what to do now! nom nom
*makes about 2 dozen

i got them during valentines day at a local supermarket! try looking at crate and barrel around february though. They have some really cute ones! 🙂
DELICIOUS
thank you !! i hope i dont put you to sleep… 😀
definitely! that would be so delicious. the only thing I would adjust is taking out the cloves and nutmeg, since those compliment the raisins much better. I would also take the cinnamon down by 1/2 as well. Enjoy!!
oh no! unfortunately the quick oats will get a bit soggy but you can still use it. It just won't have a very defined oatmeal texture, but will still taste just as good! 🙂
cranberries are delicious with oatmeal cookies! throw in some white chocolate chips too, and we have a winner! so good. 😀
awww, such sweet memories! grandmothers do have a thing for raisins… at least mine did too! lol…
thank you so much! they're fun to cook with!
sure, you can definitely omit the raisins. or you can even substitute with chocolate chips, but be sure not to add the spices, since they don't compliment each other well.
It's winter season now, and I was wondering what your take is on Fondue? Either cheese or chocolate. What ingredients would you use for a fondue party? I'm so curious as I've never tried fondue before and you seem to always be creative with dishes and ideas! Thanks 🙂

i love fondue! try making a roux first for the cheese and use emmantaler and gruyere with a dash of nutmeg. for dipping ingredients, i would do chicken, veggies, bread! yumm… i may need to have a fondue party soon. and for chocolate, just melt good quality chocolate with some cream to make a ganache and serve with cake, brownies, strawberries, and marshmallows!! 🙂
Please make something with white chocolate
