Probably a swallowtail butterfly caterpillar. Maybe a black swallowtail? Foe to the plant, but worth the sacrifice to allow it to reach maturity. They’re pretty, and great pollinators! So friend, or at worst, a mild frienemy!

I don’t let them eat my dill. I need it for my pickles. I have a little side garden that includes THEIR dill that they get evicted to. 😊
