The ceramic is cracked on the back end. When I close it, the back doesn’t close and the front is misaligned. And the back area where the ceramic is cracked moves up and down when I close the lid since it’s not tightly attached.

Anyone run into this problem before?

Yes, time for a warranty claim and a new base

Just checked my bands today. Lot of tension because of that hinge. Sorry OP.

Your band came loose on the top and the hinge shifted. Gotta lock down the hinge and retorque everything. You can see in pic 1 the hinge isn’t closed the whole way and it’s at a weird angle to the dome. That’s what’s keeping the back of the dome off the gasket

This is a pretty easy fix and doesn’t need warranty.

Install the hinge locking tool and tighten as far as it will go

Undo the nuts holding the hinge on

Remove the hinge. Then continue to tighten the hinge locking tool (it will tighten further now not attached to the dome) and it will clamp the hinge shut (may as well tighten the bands while the hinge is off)

Reinstall the hinge, tightening the bolts in a cross cross fashion

    Remove the hinge locking tool

The top of the hinge should now be flat when the dome is closed and should have a good seal
