Both are suppose to be jalapeños. Both came from the same packet. The round one is in the ground and are definitely jalapeños. The other one is in a pot and possibly a jalapeño but shaped differently?

It’s some variation of a jalapeño, but not the same strand as the other one

I don’t think the second one is a Jalapeño. *Could* be a cross but I’d wager someone put the wrong seed in your packet. I think it might be a Cubanelle. They look just like the ones I am growing. If they are, they make for good stuffed pepper recipes!
