Recently, my friend Brenda wrote to tell me about her mom, Louise, who died 10 years ago.

She said, “my mother was the only other person I knew that revered the onion as you do!“

Louise proudly flew this banner outside of her home in Wethersfield, CT, which is known for its historical onions – a breed that I happen to be growing in my backyard right now! And Brenda wanted me to have it.

So we met up for coffee, a long, deep conversation, and the passing down of this beautiful gift.

Thank you so much, Brenda. Today, I fly this banner in honor of Louise, her family, and the almighty Onion.

And look! You can see her wave! ❤️👋🧅
