i got a bag for the first time in a few months and from the first chip i genuinely thought they were expired from how stale the texture was. and the taste was off. i did some searching and it’s because the chips no longer contain potato. they are just corn now. so sad my childhood snack has turned into this shit. is there any chance they’ll go back to their old recipe?

You know what. I’ve been eating these for at-least 30 years, probably grab about one bag a month and I never even noticed haha
It’s funny cause I actually told my wife a week ago that I really like that these have never changed, not even the bag colors lol
But no you’re right, they did used to be potato. I just never noticed
I still enjoy them but I also did not know that.

IMHO, they changed almost a decade ago and haven’t been the same since.
Still very much enjoy these when I get them. I do notice sometimes they are extra fat and wide, sometimes they are extra long and skinny, but still basically taste the same.
Still my absolute favorite chips and nothing comes close imo, but every single bag in the last like 5 years tastes wildly different? Does anyone have a reason as to why?
One bag can be how I remember it from when I was a kid, the next bag can be completely stale tasting, one can taste just like someone dumped a whole thing of cayenne powder in the bag, and the list goes on..

Nah. Corn is cheaper than potato. Corn makes line go up. I like these, I haven’t had them in a while, it’s a shame if they fucked them up.
