hi everyone my name is Leela and welcome to my kitchen today I’m making steamed chicken with broccoli I’m starting with three boneless skinless chicken breasts from which I’ve removed most of the fat and I’m slicing them into thin slices about this size once it’s cut I’m going to sprinkle the chicken with a/4 teaspoon of garlic salt and mix it in and about 1 teaspoon of soy sauce and mix that in as well I’m going to let this marinate at room temperature for 20 minutes while I prepare the other ingredients now here I have two small crowns of broccoli which I’ve just rinsed under cold running water and dried and I’m just going to cut off the Flor EDS any large fettes I’m going to break into smaller pieces now I’m going to cook the chicken and broccoli separately since the chicken takes long longer to cook for the chicken I’m using foil and I’m just going to wrap it up and place it into one of the two steamer baskets that I’ll be using then in the other steamer basket I’m going to place the broccoli now when my water boils for the steamer I’m going to place the chicken on first then the broccoli cover and let it cook for 5 minutes after 5 minutes the broccoli will be cooked so I’m just going to carefully remove it and then recover the chicken and let the chicken cook for another 13 minutes or until it’s cooked through now I’m going to place the broccoli in a bowl and cover it while the chicken cooks and I’m going to start preparing the sauce now for the sauce I’m using 1 cup of chicken broth 2 tbsp of shaing wine 1 tbsp of soy sauce and half a tbsp of sugar and to thicken the sauce I’m using 2 teaspoons of corn starch which I’m just going to mix with a little water just until it dissolves now I’ve mixed the sauce ingredients in a pot and I’m going to heat it on high and stir until the sugar dissolves once the sugar dissolves and the sauce starts to come to a boil I’m going to add the cornstarch mixture and stir until the sauce thickens then I’m just going to remove it from the heat by now the chicken should be cooked I’m just going to place it on a plate and carefully open it it’ll look like this then you just want to separate the pieces and mix them with the broccoli then finally top it with the sauce and serve enjoy for complete ingredients and instructions click the link below thank you for watching

  1. Thanks for the receipe. However, I don't drink or use any liquors/wines in my foods. What could I possibly substitute for the wine you used in yours.

  2. vinegar or any type of stock is always a great substitute 😀 it all depends on taste really! or you could just leave it out, it wouldnt really make a difference x hope i helped x
