I have been taking notes on taste as they ripen. Today was a "so good, but I feel like can be better" kind of day. I picked these because I'm so worried about splitting. There was still a little green on the inside so I know I should have let them stay on the vine a little bit. Planned on keeping them on the counter to ripen a little (do they actually ripen? Or just change color? I learned that peppers will change color but not actually ripen more off the plant, wonder if it's the same with tomatoes) but they didn't make it lol. My husband doesn't like raw tomatoes but he said it wasn't bad. It's still a tomato but sweeter. My kids said the same. Nonetheless, I know at peak ripeness, it'll be even better…just gotta figure out when that is lol

Those look great and are double the size of mine. I’ve picked some already before they were completely ripe and did just what you said and in 2 days they were perfect. Nice work!
They’re have a well-earned reputation for being “splitters”, but if you have control over watering you can let the get dead-ripe on the vine without splitting….they’ll just split the second you touch them when you go to pick them 🙂
First ones to ripen are often nowhere near as good as the later ones, too. My family will often think they’re pretty “meh” until it gets about 100 deg out for a few days….after that, they can’t get enough Sungolds.
Tomatoes will ripen off the vine, as long as they’ve started to show color! Many people pick them early, leaving them on the vine too long just increases the chances that they’ll be eaten or be otherwise damaged
Those look great but when they get a darker gold they are amazing.
Those are nice size. My favorite tomato, the Sungold never let me down.
