It took me 3 hours to untangle them. I definitely lost some root mass along the way. I ended up putting the reaper, ghost and scorpion in a ~15 gallon pot and the habanero in the original ~3 gallon pot the peppers came in. Picture #4 is the before pic from yesterday. I also planted some sweet allysum flowers as companions. I used promix potting soil, miracle gro tomato at half strength, fish fertilizer and I scratched a little sprinkle of slow release granular fertilizer in for good measure. I sure hope they bounce back. Thank you everyone for your help yesterday. I will keep you posted on the experiment!

I’m so glad you took the time to separate them. Great job, it looks so much better and healthier. They will bounce back, you preserved the roots well. Happy growing!
They should do better now. I hope you get some good sized harvests.
Alyssum is great at attracting hoverflies. I’ve noticed reduced aphid attacks where I plant them, but it can grow pretty big and might choke your peppers. The peppers will still grow regardless, so I wouldn’t worry about it. They’re just so dang pretty when they get big and bushy!
Of course with nature, nothing is a sure thing, so keep your eyes peeled for insect enemies.
Lmao! You separated and then combined them back into the same pot 🤣
