A buddy just upgraded his pellet smoker and is willing to give me his Original Texan 650, but the controller on it only has “low, medium and high” for temp buttons. I wouldn’t mind upgrading it so I can dial in the temp, but I cannot find anything online about this brand. Anyone ever heard of it?

    We Need Your Help!

We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.

By voting on and commenting on posts, you’re not only helping others but also boosting the visibility of your own posts. Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.

Together, we can support and uplift our entire community. Let’s keep the positive vibes and delicious smoked meat content flowing!

From my understanding they went out of business a few years ago…I tried to do some more digging to find out who owns them but the article I read just said the creator of ” The original Texan grills and outdoor cooking company filled for bankruptcy and closed his doors in 2016. ” I couldn’t find anything else because it seems like every time I put pellet grill or pellet smoker in Google it brings me to either Traeger or PitBoss website… I’ll continue to look because now I’m officially curious… I just have to figure out different ways of asking tmrw same question…
