I usually grow birds eye chillies each year and picked up some new seeds for this year's crop. However, now they've started fruiting I'm pretty sure I've got a type of cayanne chilli instead, seems wayyyy too big to be a birds eye? Will have to wait for them to ripen and the taste test to get a better idea but wondered if anyone else had any thoughts?

Also NB, had just given them a water so excuse the slightly wilted look, tend to keep my chillies on their toes with watering so I don't lose the heat treating them too nicely!

Yo, we got what we thought were carolina reaper seeds and now that they’re fruiting they look exactly like these. no idea what they are. will be interesting to try them; i’m letting them ripen as long as possible before i taste to see if they change color. peppergate strikes again

You’ll probably get better results on r/HotPeppers.

It looks like some type of chili, although I’m not sure which. I don’t think it’s a Cayenne, though. From my experience and what I’ve seen, Cayennes are usually straighter and wrinklier than that.

‘Green’. – Sir Percy Percy, probably.

I have the same ones. I believe it’s labeled Burpee Cayenne 2.

Italian long hot, Chinese dragon tongue, heirloom cayenne are my guesses
