1.8kg beef cubes (pretty sure this is kg)
2 yellow potatoes (wish I could vary, but it's cheaper to buy 1 color in bulk ATM)
2 carrots
1 Knorr cube
1 cup water

  1. Season beef
  2. Sear beef
  3. Cut the carrots and potatoes
  4. Season the veggies
  5. Put everything inside the pot
  6. Slow cook for 16hrs

I forgot the garlic and onions, I know. I won't forget next time.

That said, is anything egregiously wrong with my recipe? I just compared stuff in different recipes and then eyed everything.

Looks dope, but onions and celery might help. A splash of good vinegar at the end of cooking will brighten it up (just a splash, though)

Anything egregiously wrong? Absolutely not! But you are correct that some garlic + onions wouldn’t hurt, and so is the other person recommending celery and a splash of vinegar.

Some other additions you may want to consider: soy sauce, worcestershire sauce, cooking wine/sherry, and then finish with fresh herbs like cilantro, parsley, chives, or even dill!

Next time, try making beef & ale stew by swapping the water with half a bottle of brown ale.

What you do with the other half of the bottle is entirely up to you.
