Anyone have any recommendations for wireless/bluetooth meat thermometers for pellet smokers? Have been looking at this one for a while as I’m just starting and have heard really good things about it. Not looking to break the bank since I’m just starting and this one is a prime day deal. Thanks!

    We Need Your Help!

We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.

By voting on and commenting on posts, you’re not only helping others but also boosting the visibility of your own posts. Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.

Together, we can support and uplift our entire community. Let’s keep the positive vibes and delicious smoked meat content flowing!

I’ve used mine a lot and it works really well, but you have to keep the base very close to the probe when using it. If I have meat on the smoker, I have the base stuck on the hopper. If in the oven, I use the magnet to stick it to the front of the oven. It’ll send you a notification that it’s disconnected if that happens.

I assume it’s not part of a prime day deal, but apparently the newest version has upgraded Bluetooth to somewhat address proximity connection issues.

I own the exact Meater in the picture. I absolutely hate it. I’d recommend staying as far away from it as possible. The external temp ALWAYS reads 50°-60° low. The cook time it calculates is laughable. The internal temp readings are always +/- 20°-30° off from my calibrated meter. If you’re looking for consistency, avoid Meater.

I have had nothing but great results with my meater, I love it! I went all out and got the new meater 2+

I got the Meater Block with the 4 Probes when it was brand new. The only annoying thing is, that it sometimes looses connection when I wrap my food with aluminium foil. But thats a problem every wireless probe will have.

Don’t do it! Just don’t… Waste of your money – It will CONSTANTLY drop the connection to your phone, it is absolute garbage. I got the Meater 2 since it can withstand 500deg celcius, but man it is a pain to use it. I can literally only walk like 5-10meters away and it will have dropped the connection.

I can reconnect, but I mean it is ALWAYS notifying me that it lost connection. Are there any workarounds? Maybe… Do I want to find them? No! A premium product should work straight out of the box.
