This has never happened to me before. It's a dragon's breath pepper that i grew last summer. It gets enough water and gets fertilizer once a week (i do this with all my peppers and i've never had problems with them). Any idea what could be the cause?

It happens to me all the time, sometimes they just drop a fruit here and there, usually just a couple. generally a yellow stem means the plant cut it off from nutrients, it’ll probably fall off if you touch it. I actually don’t know why it happens to me sometimes, but none of my peppers have a 100% success rate. Btw that plant looks super healthy, looks like there’s plenty more coming in too.

Your plant will start cutting off nutrients to some peppers if there’s a lot of peppers on at once, it can only support so many at a time with the nutrients available.

The plant may have decided to abort the deformed fruit. Could be localized infection.

I had a Scotch bonnets cut off a pepper that was 3/4 of the way. Just happens sometimes I guess
