Today I cooked another chicken and I think it was sooo much better than the first. It has a better colour and I was less nervous about the whole thing. I put in a chunk of maple, but it was so smokey I removed it after 15 minutes. Glad I did because the smokiness was just right. I can’t believe how moist and succulent the bird was. I think it was mostly due to me relying on my MEATER thermometer to get it just right. A real game changer. I would love to do the Xmas turkey but a bit nervous about how much charcoal to add. Perhaps a trial run? 🙂

Can you provide the cook details?
I got my Joetisserie for Christmas 23 so have not had a chance to cook a turkey on it. Having said that I have cooked a turkey a few times on the Joe and I have to say it’s insanely good, and honestly not hard at all. If I remember right I cooked my 16lbs turkey in 3.5~4 hours cooking at 350F
As for your fuel question, I would fill up the back half and just keep an eye on it, easy enough to add fuel with the Joetisserie.
How do you find the Joetisserie overall? I like the idea howver it seems pricey and I’m not sure how much it would get used..
