Yeah they got me with the non-discounted box thing. I thought the military discount offering was so cool, but it took me awhile to realize I wasn’t actually getting credited for jack shit even though agents were telling me I was… Sneaky.

I always ask for refunds to my original payment method in cases of unusable boxes and have never had an issue with it.

Reminder that you can always cancel and immediately resubscribe to get rid of the discount and use your credit instead. You can even cancel again and will get much better reactivation discounts afterwards than the usual “15% off your next XX boxes”. Sticking to HF without canceling is guaranteed to always give you the worst value, even if they throw an occasional mini cheesecake at you.

Their Manila based Customer Care can’t put a sentence together, ask for refund, ask for manager if refused.

This is standard practice. I’ve never had an issue with it because I know I will use the credits but I know if you are unhappy with credit vs refund you can just ask for a refund.
