If I wanted froth I would have ordered a latte.

Edit: for all of you who don’t know the difference

To those of you saying to order a drink that’s actually on the menu, not everyone is American. Here in Australia one of the main drinks on every cafe menu is a flat white. I’ve never been to a cafe in aus that didn’t have a flat white clearly on the menu.

But flat whites do have a little froth, literally the same type as a latte. It’s just less milk.

Could yall start learning what the drinks you order actually are

  4. willaney

If you want no foam, you have to ask for it. That’s not a flat white.

can you stop ordering a drink thats literally just a more pretentious latte? i bet you order it from cafes that dont even have it on the menu either lol

Get a fucking americano with heavy cream you fool

Just ask for no art/foam since there is little consistancy in the industry, or so it seems

Flat whites have little to no foam, yeah, but you can still get latte art on a flat white with that restriction. Every flat white I pour has latte art and about a 1-2 mm thick layer of foam, as opposed to a full 1+cm layer.

As with most coffee drinks, there is not a clear and objective answer as to what a flat white is and how it should be composed, but notable coffee blog sprudge did a big deep dive on the subject and consensus appears to be that a flat white should have a little foam. no coffee professionals surveyed said that a flat white should have zero foam

Order a latte with no foam. This sounds like a you problem 💜

  11. If everyone else is wrong then you’re the one that is wrong.

Flat whites are supposed to have microfoam. They still get foam. Go ahead and ask for a flat white with no foam the next time you get one and you’ll see it is very different.

Also every image search for “Australian flat white” has microfoam/foam on them.

I will put latte art on your flat white. If you dont want froth, dont order a flat white. It has micro foam.
