Z grill, set at 250, but she is well exceeded that and it eventually will shut off due to over heating and get the "her" error. Any ideas why?

Time to test out that Z Grills customer service

I see this all the time in the z grill Facebook group but don’t remember the resolution…it’s a known issue and it seems z grills is pretty willing to send you the replacement part

Is this one of those buy one get 10 free promo ones?

I think it is caused by a faulty temp gauge internally. Try cleaning the temp probe inside the unit and you may also try to adjust wire out form the probe to the controller

Have you tried looking at Z manual? You can try Z manufacturer website. Sometimes unplugging Z controller can reset it and get it working again.

  7. I had something similar and had to replace the temp probe sensor “RTD temp probe”. I cleaned it with electronics cleaner but it failed again pretty quick.

I’ve had it, where something was wrong with mother board or something that kept telling the auger to spin and never stop even in off mode.

Mine was the probe gone bad. If I turned it up over 250 it would turn off.

OMG! Mine does that too 😞
Totally frustrating! I keep having to dial mine back.

Get ahold of their customer service and they will take care of you.

I have the same code on mine. Customer service said I need a new temp probe. It’s still under warranty , but they probes are out of stock conveniently right now

    Hi temp error

It means it wasn’t able to bring the temps down right. Clean the firebox well

I had this issue once, replaced thermostat/probe sensor, everything returned to normal, and I didn’t have to calibrate anything. Ensure you are cleaning the thermostat during regular cleaning.
