Howdy fellow eggers. I am a new to the BGE world and done tons of research amd decided to pull the trigger on a Large BGE. I didn't have a good experience with the authorized platinum dealer .

I told the sales associate that I wanted a Large BGE with the modular nest. There was a promotion to save aome coin on a BGE package. My sales person worked with their colleague and they told me they didn't have any more modular nests in stock but they would give me the floor model Modular nest. Hearing that I am thinking I will get a brand new egg and the floor model Modular nest. Never was it communicated that I would receive the floor model. What was delivered was the entire floor model. After leaving a negative review, I did have a chance to speak to the customer service rep and voiced my displeasure and emphasized there are communication problems. The customer service rep told me they do not discount the BGE because of their life time warranty. Also they undersood my frustraion. Now if the sales associate communicated this, I would have specifically asked for a brand new egg or went else where. If anyone knows how I couod contact BGE corporate I would appreciate it.

Besides the bad purchasing experience, I am happy I own an egg. I will start practing on this thing next week when my patio gets extended. The internal ceramics didn't look brand new, not cooked in but a bit darker than ceramics out of the box. Should I be concerned about the ceramics gasket, or anything else? I added pics of the fire ring and the out of box brand new conveggtor.

Youre fine as long as there are no cracks or anything obvious

Its going to look like shit soon anyway if you actually cook on it

Id check over the alignment and bands and make sure its closing right (no overbite/underbite/gaps)

I got the same in an XL and had to make some adjustments to their assembly myself

Just because it is an assembled model, of which may have been on display means nothing with respect to these and many grills.

If it was not fired in/ used, it is new. Not “sorta” new.

Demo models are different from what I mentioned above…is it a demo?

Was the expectation to remove it from box and build it yourself…..then should ask for it in box.

Otherwise it will need to be be assembled regardless. If it has not been fired, it is new.

The warranty comes from BGE itself so boxes or not you’re fine. That ring and convegg are brand spanking new new too. Open the inside and look for usage and cracks.
