Hard to say it actually tops the list since half the pizza’s (including the infamous Pizzeria Bianco) aren’t even rated. Still, in pretty good company although it seems to me that the best pizza in NYC would almost certainly rank higher than a 9.4

Honestly, I’m a little surprised. I’ve had pizza at Bufalina just once, about a year ago. It *was* good, don’t get me wrong. It was fantastic. I wasn’t necessarily *blown away*, but I’d certainly return.

My favorite pizza place in the country is [Niko’s Pizza in Harrisburg, PA](https://www.ordernikospizza.com/) for “regular” pizza – which took me by complete surprise – and [Rosario’s](http://www.rosariospizzeria.net/) in Philadelphia for “non-traditional.” pizza. Rosario’s has Mexican fusion pizza and you can get an Al Pastor pizza, or one with salsa instead of your traditional pizza sauce. Goosebumps. I had several pizza spots in NYC, and eating a slice at 3am is not the same as getting hosed at Roppolo’s on 6th St. because you were too intoxicated to spend your money more wisely. I went to New Haven specifically to try Frank Pepe’s, which is probably 4th on my list.

In town, I have a weird favorite, and it is not open to the public. “Cafe Macs” is the name of the “cafeteria” at Apple’s Parmer lane campus, and inside they have several (16 or 18) different “restaurant” stations. One of which is a pizza station, which also has a fired oven. They make calzones and pizza, and they were was fantastic especially for the price ($7 in 2017). I haven’t attempted to have a whole lot of pizza specifically, but I wasn’t a fan of Homeslice (tried it twice, North and Original locations), Bat City Pies was cool, Via313 is fire, Conan’s is fire, my gf thinks Gatti’s tastes like lunchable but she’s wrong and a hater. Bufalina would go near or at the top of my local list. I would not have assumed it would stand out nationally, especially given the relative lack of Italian-Americans here. Whereas, I experienced tortilla withdrawal when I spent a few months in Philly.

Bufalina isn’t even the best in town.

Thank you for not calling it “pie”by the way

I don’t think the actual pizza at Buffalina is noticeably better than Desanos, although the date atmosphere is obviously much much much better

It’s just an aggregation of existing reviews in different cities. Nothing to see here.

Comical. Must be bought and paid for honestly….. there’s no way any straight forward Neopolitan place should even be considered for “top Pizza” anywhere if we’re being honest.

They just needed to fill in the map to get clicks. Any idiot could name 15 better places and never get out of NYC or New Haven.

I was a repeat customer when they first opened, they expanded, the portions started to decline dramatically, was not as good anymore, then I stopped going, then covid came. I wish them well but all good things come to an end. So I 2nd nickleback’s comments – they’re not even the best in Austin.
