Whoever the moderator of this sub is need to add the geographic category of MID CITY which is where a lot of expansion and improvement of neighborhoods is going on in recent times.
This Saturday morning I unexpectedly happened upon a modern day hole in the wall TAQUI TAQUI run by two brothers. I was driving past town and was planning to stop at the Leo’s taco truck at Venice & La Brea and try to order a breakfast burrito. Only to be told they wouldn’t make one.
So I drove around the block and in a small mini mall, noticed this 9 month old wonderful micro restaurant (with indoor and outdoor seating). The reason why I said in the title “unofficial” is because they don’t have breakfast burritos on their menu or any other breakfast items, but they could tell that’s what I was in the mood for so they made me one with their delicious, freshly marinated al Pastore meat. It cost $12.50 and was so delicious. I thought I had gone, died and gone to heaven.
I had it with in-house made Jamaica along with chips and guacamole, which I think were the best I have had in very long time. So if you are passing through this area, I’m most highly recommended and the guys who run it are really, really nice.
