I love cooking whole chickens on the Weber grill. It’s so easy because chicken is very hard to over-cook. I think it’s far easier than beef, pork, turkey etc and the results are usually far more consistent too

Those look delicious. Enjoy

I love to smoke whole chickens and turkeys. I’ll break them down when done, make a stock, then make a gumbo with it.

What temp got you that color? 300+?

I spatchcock on the Weber. A couple of meals, use some for chicken salad. Easy to do and doesn’t take long

Ohhh those chicken skins are going to taste incredible.

Love smoking whole chickens but I live alone so usually just end up doing leg quarters. Still really good.

I generally only like white meat but I love smoking whole chickens, using the bones for broth and some of the dark meat for soup

Since I started spatchcock method this year, it’s the only way I’ll cook a whole bird. Seasonings may vary, but temp and time on the Weber stay the same.

Spatchcock or rotisserie are my preferred methods, but I’ll never say no to a good smoked chicken!

Smoked chicken is fantastic. It also turns leftovers into a wonderful chicken salad.

We used to half them and then shred after cooking, 4 chickens at a time.

Made the best soup every with a smoked chicken I fucked up. It was so goooood but I forgot how I made it 😓

I used to cook whole chickens, but I almost never do anymore. The difference in cooking times between the beast and dark meat makes it hard to get it done without overcooking the breast.
I don’t even really spatchcock them anymore. I usually break them down first.
brentemon
Just did one today. Rotisserie over lump and apple wood chunks.
