I used to cry if I found onions in my food. Now I can't get enough of 'em!

I didn’t like them either. One time I ordered a burger at sonic with no onions and received more onions than burger.

    I love onions now.

  2. They were one of my top three most hated foods. The other two were peas and raw tomatoes. Now I love all of them.

Oddly, as a kid I did actually like the onion rings from Burger King. That was the one and only exception.

I used to hate onions, tomatoes, and avocado but now love all 3. Weirdly enough I used to down jars of olives as a kid and now I cannot stand them. Funny how your palate changes

I was the same way, particularly with raw onion.

Then we grow up, mature, and can appreciate the finer things in life…like onions.

I’ve always loved them, but I’m glad others came to there senses

Not me, onion lover 4 life here, but my man in the beginning of knowing him would order dishes without onions / ask for no onions on his plate until I showed him just how much each different kind of onion could add to their respective dishes. I do have to do the produce shopping with him, but he will eat any onion I incorporate into dishes now!

Yep didn’t like most veggies. Learned how important they were to chicken soup as my first concession

Used to only eat the tops of broccoli too

Never. I always had good taste in food.

    Not me.

But good to have you come around on the matter.

I’m a day 1 onion lover. I was hyped for onions before they even hit the market.

i hated them as a kid because i never tried them, same with tomatoes. went for it one day and got a burger with everything on it. still hate tomatoes, completely obsessed with onions.

I hated them, but in the defense of onions, my mother couldn’t cook.

I did. I used to gag when I ate onions as a kid. Now I have favorite onion types

They always tasted so strong. And my grandmother hated onions. HATED. And she was my everything, so I just automatically counted onions out. Definitely making up for it now that I’m older.

I never even experienced onions as a child. My dad is allergic to onions, and my mom hated vegetables. I discovered onions accidentally on a sandwich when I was like 20, and became absolutely obsessed.

Whenever my mother chopped onions I would just go into the kitchen, wash my hands and then start eating it straight of the chopping board. She didn’t understand but she didn’t mind, except when she had to chop more.

Nope, I remember my sister hated them so she would pick them and the green peppers out of dad’s spaghetti sauce and hand them to me on a napkin.

I thought I hated them because all the other kids did, but I ate the hell out of those McDonald’s cheeseburgers without picking the onion off. I also loved onion rings and onion dip. And I liked the stuff mom cooked, which usually had onions. Soon I realized…oh, I guess I like onions.

I’d get my McDonald’s burgers with no onion, pickle, or mustard…so boring

  20. burnneere

Meee. Pickles and mustard too. Love them all now

  21. No-Tough-1327

I despised them and would lose my shit when McDonald’s would forget to hold them on my burger. My mom would be like “Just wipe them off!” Which was a major hell nah to me because the flavor was still there.

It took years of me hating them until while working at a restaurant around 25 years old(33 now) and I was starving and my head chef was making me a burger, but I was so hungry I wanted something else on it.

Bit the bullet, and said “Fuck it, throw some onions on there.” The rest is history. I instantly fell in love.

Same thing happened to me with hot sauce on wings(at 27 years old) and mustard on sandwiches (29 years old).

I did until age 7ish. I have lived them since, 48 years now.
