I see that Lao Gan Ma is very popular, but it's very difficult to come by in my area.

I found this one, seems to be the bean based one

It’s crispy fried peppers in oil. Tasty but not too spicy if that’s what you’re after.

  2. Deep-Nebula5536

Oh my gosh yes it’s the best and most authentic

  3. reallyangrychef

The disappointed Chinese grandma oil is really good. I’m not a huge fan of the peanuts though

yes, it’s the real deal. and a LOT cheaper than all of the new, boutique chili crisp/oils out there. it is a solid first choice.

If Brian David Gilbert and his pepcorn are anything to go off of, absolutely yes.

The black bean one is still very good.

  10. I work for a company who delivers all the products for the kitchen to mostly the asian restaurant. This is one of the most authentic ones and a lot of restaurants buy this!

Good enough to baptize my first-born in it.

So super good. The best of the bunch. Delicious, versatile, and something I was cry if I could no longer have it in rotation as things I cook with often.

Yes it’s good, however, there’s a very recent news in China, people transport industrial and food oil using the same truck tank without cleaning in between. I would avoid any products in oil from china

I’ve tried the crispy chilli and it was really delicious! Not sure about the bean version.

Holy fuck yes omg I can’t believe I scrolled down to this. YES YES YES YES!!!! it seems super spicy at first but now I put 1/4 to 1/3 of the jar in some of my soups like ramen and cabbage soup. 10/10 would recommend.

  16. junkonejo

It’s really good and sometimes you can get it flavored and with extra things like peanuts or mushrooms, totally recommended

  17. Large_slug_overlord

This is the S tier chili oil and the only one I would buy

  18. phome83

This is the cream of the crop. There is no better.

  19. mug_O_bun

Absolutely! Put that on everything! On fried rice, cottage cheese on toast, tacos, eggs, pretty much you name it. Delicious!

  20. TheImpundulu

I work in China and I buy this all the time. In fried rice or noodles it’s amazing!

  21. GetInLoser_Lets_RATM

I like it on my chicfila biscuit the best. Love it on fried chickens

  22. Rammipallero

    Absolutely fucking amazing.

Mix that and a little peanutbutter with hot water, throw on some noodles and it’s a heavenly treat.

  23. GrimmDeLaGrimm

I honestly haven’t ever bought anything else. This jar does not survive in my house.

  24. JustinPooDough

    that guy FUCKS.

    In other words – YES.

  25. uh60chief

Ayo I just got this last week to try. Since then I’ve been putting it on everything! Get the small jar, try it and once you run out go for the big one. It’s crack!

  26. backwoodsjesus91

I use this stuff in everything I can manage to use it in. Just bought a new jar yesterday actually. It just makes every little thing better.

  27. TwelveRaptor

It’s not terribly hot but has a ton of umami from what I think are little crunchy soy beans in it. It’s great on top of pretty much any rice or noodle dish, imo. I put it on eggs from time to time as well.

  28. ilovecorbin

It’s very popular. I personally don’t like the flavor of it. It has a very umami taste

This is a solid chili oil on my opinion ! I love the garlic touch to this one specifically. You also do not need a whole lot!
