Mariela’s has a lot of the different meats. As does El Taurino. Tire Shop Taqueria and Angel’s are great for different things. Or Ave 26 has a lot of carnitas. Guisado’s or Asadero Chikali have different types of guisado’s. Santee Alley has tacos de canasta which I can’t decide if I love or hate, but is definitely not something widely available. You kind of have to go all around to find the best of different types.

There’s a B&M stand in El Monte called Ixmota and they have a lot of options. All the regular options, plus scallop, KBBQ, langostino, duck, and a lot of other non-typical and vegan options. The jackfruit taco is amazing and different than every other jackfruit taco, because instead of turning into a carnitas dupe, they leave it as chunks of sweet, yellow-orange fruit. Their handmade tortillas are among the best I’ve had. It is kinda pricy though. Regular tacos are like $5 (they are pretty big and well stuffed) and then they deluxe and ultimate taco options for like $6 and $7.
