Lets keep this thing going! I don’t think Bucees chopped brisket sandwich was bad, and neither does my friend who’s a food snob. This was in TN.

  1. I never pass up their brisket breakfast burrito. Or the monster one I think it’s called.

  2. Philds15

The Texas cheesesteak burrito at Buccees is my go to!

It’s ok. These posts feel like paid promotions though.

The brisket sandwich is more like boiled pot roast. I will get them on a road trip, but I go into it with the mindset that it’s not “real” BBQ

  6. Non-Current_Events

It’s decent for a gas station barbecue sandwich. At Buc-ee’s, go with the sliced brisket instead of the chopped.

  7. blaqwerty123

Gas station pulled pork sammy is pretty good. Brisket is gonna really vary per location yall

  8. It’s not terrible, I wish they went back to offering the brisket with onions and pickles.

The pulled pork is good for fast food, but there is so much better out there.

Check out the YouTube on the critique of Buc-ees brisket sandwich by Mad Scientist BBQ. Basically rates it about a B+ without using that grading system.

No bark, no smoke ring, no beefy flavor. Only saving grace is that their BBQ sauce is mediocre. I buy it once a year to see if it’s improved, and it never has, and only gets pricier.

  11. polkastripper

I thought the brisket from Buccees was vile. Gross texture slathered in sugary sauce.

  12. maestrosouth

Building the first Bucee’s in AZ a mile from my house. Can’t wait.

  13. willghammer

I know I’m in the minority here, but I thought the brisket was absolutely terrible.

  14. ASSMANWILLIE77

The pulled pork was bland but the brisket was the best I’ve had from a stranger at 11pm.

  15. bossmcsauce

Buccees is legit. I do not think you can get a better BBQ sandwich in that serving size for that price at pretty much any brick-and-mortar restaurant/BBQ joint

  16. Every food I’ve gotten at Buccees has made me ill. It IS gas station food!

  17. ExtraAgressiveHugger

Bucees food is terrible. Including their brisket.

  18. averagemaleuser86

Buccees puts too much sauce on their brisket sandwhiches… drowned in sauce.

  19. nuremberp

I use my own rub for brisket but i definitely drew some inspiration from the bucees rub

  20. They don’t trim the fat enough making the chopped extremely fatty. Sauce is far too sweet as well basically masking the flavor. Kolaches are absolute trash. Sliced is better but only in a pinch. Candied pecans are pretty great. They also tend to try and fool you with the pricing on fuel at some without disclosing it being fuel price with a car wash. I have noticed some better signage recently as I know many people including myself have mentioned this to them. Athens, AL store is a wreck compared to Leeds, AL and Calhoun, GA.

Quick trip has a brisket taco that is pretty dang good.

  22. ind3pend0nt

I can’t do their brisket. It’s not good Texas bbq.

  23. LazyOldCat

Is this really $15? Never been, just thought I saw it on another thread.

I mean, are we just fishing for positive responses at this point? Ok here we go:

Life is about expectations. Buckees claims their specialty is Texas style BBQ, so we expect something decent. This is not even remotely good. If however they just said “hey we got food” and you knew you were getting gas station BBQ, it would be a very functional BBQ sandwich. However, it is just a disappointment because of their hype for it. The breakfast sandwiches are pretty good though.

  25. StrawberryKiss2559

I love it because I grew up in Texas and there were numerous gas stations or small butcher shops where you could grab a pretty decent brisket sandwich any time. None of them were over $.99.

That’s hard to find nowadays, even in Texas.

  26. Swiftraven

I don’t care for it. Tried it twice and was very underwhelmed both times.

  27. JeepRumbler

Buccees is a decent/good food option on the road.

Idk if it was in my head but I stopped at the Buccees in TN a couple times. The pulled Pork seemed a lot sweeter than the one in Texas.

I will say the Buccees in TN was Busy but not nearly as packed with influencers/tourists as a the one in Texas. I wasn’t rushing myself to get lout like I do while stopping at one in TX.

    Maybe it’s a regional thing.

  28. Limotinted

your opinion is wrong and you should feel bad for posting this shit in a bbq sub.

  29. dogfoodgangsta

I’d say their stuff is a solid B and considering it’s from a truck stop and on demand that’s pretty damn good.

  30. holy_cal

I had the brisket sandwich in Richmond, KY. Not a fan.

  31. LaGorda54

I have terrible anxiety around crowds, and Buccees is not the best for me in that regard. However, their brisket sandwich is good enough that I would willingly subject myself to the interior of that people-filled nightmare to get one.

  32. willing-ear6931

I’d eat Bu-Cee’s any day over Dickies. That’s all I have to compare to down here for fast-food bbq

  33. C3ntrick

I hated the brisket there. Was burping up the sauce all night. Now the Philly steak wrap . Ohhh dear lord that was amazing
