It's pretty non stop at my cafe & we use an ancient 2 group head marzocco, just thought it would be fun to share. How many flavors of syrup does your cafe carry?

Everyday I’m reminded how happy I am that our cafe separates a Latte and an Iced Latte into two separate drinks. I got a headache just looking at this.

DoorDash and the like are such bullshit for coffee shops. Especially during a rush

ā€˜Half-caf’ ? – Please don’t tell me that’s one shot regular and one shot of decaf. If so, that’s weird and I’m sure annoying to make. Never seen that before and I have spent over 2 years total as a barista.

  4. Looks like fun, I miss when my shop was that busy. Are you solo on bar or got a partner?

  5. i feel like this isn’t THAT crazy for 30 minutes? maybe it’s because im in a large city but idk

Understand the pain. Numbers of drinks may not be the main issue, those special requests are the real pain.

Last week I’d got a single order of 16 cups when I was about to put on the ā€œClosedā€ sign…. I’d nailed it in abt 20 minutes, but still I had to stay behind for all the closing chores.🄲

Leo with the almond milk AND half n’ half in a latte???? make it make sense

Kudos for surviving that rush! I once had a customer order a “venti caramel macchiato, upside down with extra whip” during peak. Nearly lost it.

im so glad we just have mobile pickups and not doordash at my cafe.

  11. 22 drinks in 30 minutes is pretty manageable. 2 minutes a drink with one person working is pretty easy to manage workflow. More than that someone taking orders and someone making drinks from my experience you can easily handle 60 drinks an hour. 3rd person running cups and drinks and doing 100 an hour is kind of perfect for me.

I just moved to a more fancy restaurant where plating takes much longer. My last place, 3 screens deep was pretty chill. Especially if we’re talking beverages

Thats pretty slow compared to where I work lol…. I get all these drinks at once not in the span of 30 mins šŸ™

This morning I had two 8 tops seated at the same time and then a 7 top ten minutes later and I was the only barista; this is child’s play 🄲

I worked at several coffee shops for many years before switching to stay at home during covid…I miss being a barista but this image sent me into a fucking panic. I can still hear the DoorDash tablet going off in my nightmares 😭

Lol this is nothing. Downvote all you want, im the type to like this shit when it comes to rushes. Ive worked in commercial and local specialties; all come in different types of rushes. Once you did one, youll be able to do it all. Im glad youre pulling through too. All hell until it hits 10am.

What software are you using to display the tickets?

The coffee shop I work at is in a hotel and we have kiosks so we can get 6 orders at a time and most mornings we get 6 orders at a time and then back to back to back, it’s not a great system and management doesn’t seem to realize that being able to take 6 orders at a time doesn’t mean we can make 6 orders at a time šŸ˜…

  22. gundampoon

it’s always doordash that will reck your shit tbh, the rest is pretty per usual for a morning rush… doordash should be banned from coffee shops imo
