Replacing a Expert Grill (Walmart brand) that's been chugging along for almost 3 years. Conducting the initial burn in now. 1st burnt offering to the BBQ God's will be 30ish lbs of bone in pork butt for this upcoming weekend….

    We Need Your Help!

We’ve noticed that recent changes in Reddit’s algorithms have made it harder for original content (OC) communities like ours to get the visibility we used to enjoy. This shift means that posts and comments aren’t getting the attention they deserve.

By voting on and commenting on posts, you’re not only helping others but also boosting the visibility of your own posts. Your engagement is crucial, not just for r/PelletGrills, but for all the wonderful niche communities like food, crafts, art, and culture that thrive on original content. Even a simple comment like “This would fit X sub” can make a big difference.

Together, we can support and uplift our entire community. Let’s keep the positive vibes and delicious smoked meat content flowing!

I have a Brunswick Platinum from pit boss and this a damn battleship. I use it 3-4 times a month and it always delivers. Their app could use some work but I’ve had pretty good luck with both of the vertical smokers I’ve owned by them. I’m a fan of the vertical units simply because of the space.

I bought a version of this just as covid shut everything down. It’s still chugging along, and I can really pack a lot in there. My temps stay pretty consistent (unlike other folks with Pit Bosses?), but it does go down in temp the further up you go.

    Enjoy!

Oh, and oval foil turkey pans with the corners missing work great in there for maintaining air flow.

🤣🤣🤣me too just bought one today from Lowe’s. Putting together right now…

  6. Have a Louisiana version. I put each slab of meat on a wire rack over a baking sheet to catch grease on each shelf if that makes sense, I had a pretty bad grease fire from brisket tallow dripping onto hot metal near firebox before I learned this lesson. As with anything your mileage may vary.

Been thinking about picking one up to start trying my hand at making beef jerky.
