I just watched some of the Food Scrap Challenge videos and one thing i noticed was the normal being very very smug. I'd kinda like to see the roles reveresed and see how that would go. xDD

Isn't a spice (specifically compared to an herb) typically the seed, bark, fruit, root, and sometimes flowers of a plant used to season food? Herbs being the leaves or stems (or sometimes flowers).
If you're in the US (or Canada I think), a great source for spices is Penzeys. They have physical stores some places, but they also ship all over. They do really brisk business in their spices so they are fresh. I swapped to them a couple years ago and it's really helped improve my food. Other vendors are of course available, but this is the best one I know of that does a decent amount of shipped business vs primarily local.

What if… hear me out… What if these wonderful teaching videos are actually Kush coaching Mike in cooking, so he can take on Barry for the Sous Chef Apron!?
One thing I always recommend when buying spices for a new recipe, is go to a bulk food store where you can buy as much or as little of something as you want. I also find it cheaper(per gram) when buying large amounts or for making your own spice blends.
