Had a day off with time to burn on the East Side so after working out at ATX Grit I walked over to Llama Queen to catch their happy hour. Main attraction is $10 cocktails until 7pm that usually cost $15. They also have $5 beer and $8 wine but the cocktails are the way to go. Picture is of the Chicha Sour. It was delicious.

From there I walked past Central Machine Works to check out Lil’ Easy. I would call it an LSU bar based on the flag outside but there are no TV’s so don’t go expecting a game watching crowd. Another great happy hour with lots of half price snacks. I got some hush puppies to go with my Tequila Crusta. Spoiler alert, the tequila is Espalon. Not one of my favs, but the other ingredients make up for it. Pretty strong tasting drink.

I drove down Cesar Chavez to Mr. Natural, grabbed some pastries and noticed Chalmers is now open. Haven’t seen it mentioned yet, so I popped in for drink to see the place. Wasn’t that busy. Lots of staff on hand, some of them usually work at the Dainty Dillo, same owners as Armadillo Den, too. I got the frozen Mexican Martini. Bartender said it’s their No.1 seller. I liked it but not as much as I like regular Mexican Martinis. At least they had something I hadn’t tried before.

How was the vibe of Chalmers? I drive by there daily to work and for some reason it gives me the ick.

$10 is how much a cocktail should cost all the time.
