Buy pre shaved beef slices. I used 2 lbs. made an á jus gravy in slow cooker. Heat on high and pick apart and place raw beef into hot juice. Simmer till cooked. Remove and drain single sandwich portions onto a foil lined baking sheet, top with provolone cheese and broil until golden brown. Place in a hoagie roll, ladle in “gravy” and top with hot giardinara relish. Enjoy!

    I do this all the time. This is one of my regular dinners. However, I usually use some onions and peppers as well.

    You gotta put some of the juice on the roll. Nowhere in Chicago is completely draining their beef.

    In a pinch I use very rare sliced roast beef from the deli, never made it in a crock pot.
