I love the Blue Fin Tuna at Taro's Fish, but I don't want to be fleeced! Anyone else sell this Blue Fin Tuna for less? Diana's Seafood doesn't.

We carry all cuts of bluefin tuna, Akami (lean), Chutoro (medium fatty), Otoro (fatty). Pricing is from $60/lb and up.

    You can try http://jtownbythesea.ca/.

But I can’t see it being cheap buying tuna (which is already very expensive) in Japan and shipping it to the opposite side of the planet within hours so that it is sushi quality. Wholesale is about $35/kg in Japan at the fish market…add fast temp-controlled shipping and markup and $60/lb doesn’t seem unreasonable.

I can only suggest who to avoid – Daily Seafood Inc. Ordered twice and both times they sent inedible chewy tuna tail scraps. I assume they send the good parts to restaurants then find a sucker online every day or two to send the garbage to. Their other fish and seafood was good but avoid their tuna at all cost.

You aren’t getting fleeced. Good blue fin tuna is extremely expensive. You get what you pay for.
